The Black Tech Union created the "A Tribe Called Tech"  event series as a nonprofit initiative with the goal of fostering a community of professionals, organizations and universities who are serious, intentional and passionate about empowering people of African descent in technology careers and entrepreneurship. We develop partnerships with community organizations, universities and corporations to facilitate programs that drive a measurable increase in the representation of people of African descent working in technology companies and funded startups.

The #BLACKTECHUNION is actively growing & supporting the black tech ecosystem globally. We curate meetups and events at some of the world's top tech conferences while activating new markets to create self-sustaining technology empowerment initiatives. Be sure to join us for a special invite only kickback powered by Twitter after the 2019 AfroTech Conference in Oakland to learn more about working with them or one of our other sponsor companies. You'll have the rare opportunity to network with current employees, recruiters and hiring managers in a relaxed environment with complimentary cuisine and libations.
After the Hiring Happy Hour we take it up a notch by bringing in two world class DJ's to soundtrack the rest of the night with the latest top charting music perfectly blended with retro vibes. You will experience great entertainment, food and drinks in one of Oakland's iconic venues as well as meet black tech ecosystem influencers who are dedicated to moving the culture forward while ensuring people of African descent succeed in their careers. The best part is there is no cost to attend, simply complete the RSVP application and you will be notified via email.Â
